“The Lodge” Updates:

Our team has been working hard on our lodge project even though our beautiful spring weather hasn’t been the most cooperative.  Below are some updated pics of the progress!

Our state of the art indoor pool room will feature, as always, a Mossing Pool with power cover,  dehumidification courtesy of Desert Heat, the industry leader in commercial dehumidification, and radiant in-floor heat for those cold Ohio winter (and spring) days!  Decor will include reclaimed brick on the walls with a lightly stained pine tongue and groove ceiling and custom designed kitchenette.

Hiding all the cooling ductwork for a 6,500 square foot slab on grade space took a collaboration of some of the best designers and engineers in the business.

The hanging wires look a little messy but your getting an inside glimpse of 3 different light fixtures we’re testing out for our clients to get the perfect lighting to showcase their gorgeous oak timbers and pine ceiling to come.

Every timber frame lodge has to have a focal point, and ours are the twin 36’ tall wood burning masonry fireplaces with mammoth 4’x4’matching fire boxes.  These back-to-back independent fireplaces are over 8’ wide and 4’ deep each!

We will be installing over 16,000 lineal feet of the pine ceiling you see above.  It will be adding its warmth and style to every ceiling, porch, and soffit in our lodge and matching outbuilding.

Timber Frame Truss Day

Day one of timber truss asembly is in the books!   The 50 ton crane shows up Friday morning to start setting them.

At 6,700 lbs/pc., the massive size of these things are almost indescribable.

This gable end truss will weigh in at over 9,000 lbs once assembly is complete.

At 42’ wide and 17’ tall at the peak, we couldn’t even get them to fit in a picture from the second story.

Oak River Pool House

This project, started December 1st, 2016 is located in Whitehouse, Ohio. The goal was to design a large entertaining, studio, and storage space into the natural wooded landscape without making it look out of place, and without blocking views of the woods from the existing home. To achieve this goal, a "2 structure" design that could be connected all under one roof was utilized. This allows clear views through to the natural wooded landscape.

This 1,792 sq. ft. pool house was designed by Kime Designs and features a Mossing custom built swimming pool, open air porch space, and will also house a studio and provide a beautiful backdrop for outdoor shots for the clients photography business. Expected completion is Spring 2017.

Master Bath and Sunroom Addition

Started in the Summer of 2016, this master bath and sunroom feature resort and spa inspired finishes. There is a steam shower with multiple body jets, two shower heads, hand shower, and custom teak bench. With all of these faucets and shower heads, we designed and installed an independent, on-demand hot water system so the hot water will never run out. Flooring features heated tile throughout the bathroom and closets feature custom built cabinets and closet organizers. We were able to hand deliver all building materials around the back of the home due to an extremely tight lot, and the entire project was completed in just over two months while the client was out of town.

Riverfront Project Complete

Located on River Road in Grand Rapids, Ohio, this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is 2,180 square feet of beautiful open space nestled into the riverbank. Special features include a two-story walk out deck overlooking the Maumee River. The foundation and decks required a stamped and sealed engineered design which included multiple soil borings throughout the building process. Steel I-beams and concrete filled pilings were used to anchor this home to the bank.

New Year, New Home.

Started in October of 2016, this Sylvania, Ohio home is ready for interior insulation (spray foam and cellulose in walls and attic) as the trim and siding is being installed on the exterior. Featuring 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths in its over 2,400 square feet of living space, you'll also find 12' ceilings throughout the foyer and great room. For this home, we wanted to maximize the total footprint on the lot - and we did that by designing the home one inch smaller on all four sides than the lot allows. There is plenty of room for vehicles and storage in the attached, 4 car, 950 square foot garage with storage above. In the basement, there will be a full bath, in-house salon, and full bar with entertainment area. As with all of our new builds, we are utilizing the Huber Engineered Woods Zip Wall system instead of traditional house wrap and sheathing. This provides unmatched air sealing and drainage plane performance of the building envelope. Expected completion for this beautiful home is Spring 2017.
